Barnhorn Manor sought design agency Sussex, Growth by Design, to update their in-house visitor guide and printed brochure. Barnhorn Manor is a beautiful coastal getaway, near Bexhill. In a grade II listed converted barn, which sleeps up to 14 people and has a hot tub on offer, it really is a truly grand holiday experience.
The guide is provided to all guests, giving them essential information about the property, rules of house-usage as well as useful information about things to do and places to go in the local area – from walks, beaches, to restaurants and things to do when it rains.
A key part of the brief for a design agency Sussex to fulfill was to therefore solve the challenge of how to display quite a lot of text that was informative and instructional, in a way which fitted with the ethos and atmosphere of the experience on offer at Barnhorn.
By working with a marketing agency situated in Sussex, Barnhorn Manor knew they’d have the benefit of a team of marketing professionals to inform the brochure.
It all started with a competitor’s brochure. The client had identified a competitor’s brochure as being superior to their own and were looking for something more akin to it in style, use of photography and more engaging way of presenting the information.
Our Sussex-based team of designers agreed the competitor’s brochure was a step up from what they had been using but were confident they could give Barnhorn’s brochure a further leap forward!
The process started with a detailed planning conversation around the copy and the design elements and features to be used to display it most effectively. It also became apparent that Barnhorn needed a logo to help the brochure’s content hang together – it would also have been rather flat without one! We, therefore, went through a simple logo design process too.
Drawing on the high-quality photographs available, but which had previously not been used, these were supplemented by comparable photographs of sites from the local area to form part of the guide.
Being able to draw on a range of skills from a design agency Sussex, meaning that the owners of Barnhorn Manor were able to get everything they needed efficiently.
Through the careful planning and design of the considerable amount of written copy required, the owners of the Manor were delighted with their final brochure. It far exceeded their expectations and they felt it demonstrated and embodied the experience their property provides its guests with.
